On the issue of the design culture of urban courtyards in the historical center of Vladivostok: old and new

Today, there are problems in the culture of decorating urban courtyards in historical quarters, in the architectural and spatial structure of the city center. The article discusses the organization of the design environment of urban historical courtyards and offers recommendations for creating a creative visual environment of courtyards in the system of historical quarters, including land-
scape, small forms, street windows, signs, entrance groups to offices, cafes, shops, shopping centers. The aim of the work is to identify current theoretical and practical trends in the organzation of the visual environment of urban courtyards located in historical quarters, using the example of the historical center of the city of Vladivostok. The urgency of the problem lies in the need  to  study  modern  processes  of  designing  and  reconstruction  of  historical  courtyards,  a more careful attitude to the problems of organizing the visual environment of the city, the need to update the architectural and design theory. The novelty of the study is that at present there is
a problem of insufficient elaboration of the theory and practice of designing a harmonious environment of urban courtyards, preserving the "spirit of the time" of the historical part of the city, the practice of using new materials and technologies in modern projects. The article sets the task of studying the existing problems in the field of yard design. The concept of the article is to organize a high-quality visual environment of the historic city center. As a result of the research, the main components of the design organization of the environment of historical courtyards of the city were identified, new design trends were identified, the important role of preserving and
reconstructing  the  environment  of  historical  courtyards  was  noted.  The  necessity  of  reconstructing the facades, landscape, creating expressive modern designs of courtyards preserving the existing “spirit of the times”, brand, is noted.f ecological formation of textile design and costume design objects do not lose their relevance.
